Yesterday Mass Unleashes Haunting New Single “Eyes In The Dark”

From the frostbitten heart of Finland comes a band that straddles two musical worlds and merges them into one striking vision. Yesterday Mass, a Symphonic Hard Rock duo consisting of lyricist Ilio Kinnula and composer Ace Eshed, break through the noise with "Eyes In The Dark" a soaring, darkly cinematic track that marks their boldest step yet into Symphonic Power Metal. Blending the intensity of Metal with the grandiosity of symphonic orchestration, all wrapped in a lyrical story pulled from the pages of epic fantasy.

The Band

Comprised of lyricist Ilio Kinnula, steeped in the world of Metal, and multi-genre composer Ace Eshed was founded on a shared vision: to bridge the gap between traditional Hard Rock and the sweeping scale of Symphonic Metal. With roots in different musical worlds, the duo has found a unique sound that both honors the past and dares to push boundaries. Built on the foundation of Kinnula’s roots in Metal and Eshed’s genre blending Rock sensibilities, the band’s chemistry results in a sound that’s both reverent of the genre's rich past and defiantly forward facing. Their latest single, inspired by "Exile"

Eyes In The Dark

Their latest single, "Eyes In The Dark," veers confidently into Symphonic Power Metal territory. Inspired by “Exile” by fantasy author R.A. Salvatore, the lyrics follow a deeply personal narrative, a man haunted by past tragedy and seeking a better future. Kinnula’s words paint vivid emotional landscapes, while Eshed’s composition guides the listener through them with dynamic shifts, dramatic builds, and powerful instrumental textures. With lyrics chronicling a man’s escape from a tragic past and his desperate search for redemption, "Eyes In The Dark" hits with emotional heft and mythic intensity.

Production

The track was brought to life under the skilled production of Asim Rahimov, whose work ensures every sonic layer—from the cinematic strings to the crushing guitars—is given space to breathe. At the heart of it all is vocalist Mauro Elias, whose commanding performance delivers the song’s emotional punch with both finesse and ferocity. His voice soars, pleads, and roars through the storm, anchoring the narrative with palpable passion.

"Eyes In The Dark" showcases everything that sets Yesterday Mass apart: storytelling that resonates, genre blending musicianship, and a fearless approach to sound. It’s a song that feels timeless and urgent, theatrical yet deeply human.

The vocals, performed by Mauro Elias, are nothing short of captivating. Elias delivers Kinnula’s poetic lyrics with aching conviction and heroic resolve, breathing life into the song’s tormented protagonist. His performance stands out—not just for its technical prowess, but for its ability to inhabit the narrative with genuine feeling.

What’s Next

In a time when much of rock feels either recycled or overproduced, Yesterday Mass is crafting something earnest and ambitious. "Eyes In The Dark" doesn’t just echo the past—it converses with it, reshaping it into something stirringly new. As the band continues to forge their path through the modern rock and metal scenes, one thing is clear: Yesterday Mass isn’t here to follow trends—they're here to create their own mythology, one powerful track at a time.

Stay tuned—this is just the beginning.

Wrestling Baddie to Rock Goddess: A Tale of the Goldy LockS Band

Wrestling Baddie to Rock Goddess: A Tale of the Goldy LockS Band

If you are a child of the ‘90s or early 2000s, like myself, then chances are you grew up watching wrestling with your dad. It was the one night of the week you were allowed to stay up late because—well—wrestling was coming on. Everyone piled into the living room, surrounding the TV, you and your siblings studying every move to try and recreate later. The sheer excitement when your favorite wrestler's theme song started to play, hyping the crowd all the way to the ring! This was true family time for us growing up, and you don’t realize the lasting impact until you're an adult reminiscing about watching wrestling.

For me, the ladies of wrestling were my favorite, and not just for their beauty. I was amazed by their strength! Seeing a woman that beautiful have the power to take on absolutely shredded men or women was mind-blowing to me. Speaking of beautiful baddies in the wrestling world, let’s talk about the blonde bombshell—Goldy Locks!

From Headlocks to Rock Riffs

Goldy Locks, the beautiful, fierce, and unstoppable former pro wrestling personality, manager, and wrestler from the early 2000s, was always a crowd favorite! With her unbreakable, unapologetic, and sharp tongue, Goldy was a force of nature—the blonde bombshell who could walk into a room and command attention like she owned it! This wrestling baddie did it all, from managing pro wrestlers to interviewing and even wrestling herself for Total Nonstop Action (TNA) IMPACT Wrestling.

I asked Goldy how she got involved in the world of wrestling, and she said:

“My entertainment lawyer at the time was helping the Jarretts start up the promotion. We had a lot of meetings. I would go to Hendersonville, TN, many times to try and get the job. I thought I got it on my own merit, but I’m sure it was her iron fist that secured the deal.”

Some of her biggest accomplishments in wrestling include handling everything they threw her way while keeping her head on straight.

“I’ve had the privilege of being many different characters, all because they believed in my talent and abilities enough to do it. I’m so grateful for those opportunities.”

Another one of her proudest accomplishments has been maintaining friendships with some of the biggest names in wrestling.

“Being in their lives, watching them become parents, and them wanting to attend our band shows—that’s the biggest thing to me ever.”

Goldy is still very much involved in the wrestling industry today. She currently hosts a podcast called Goldy’s Closet under Vince Russo’s The Brand and has been doing it for over seven years. She still makes guest appearances and is actively trying to get back into wrestling. She also has a musical show titled Rain & Riffs featuring her wrestling friend and colleague Mickie James.

The Goldy LockS Band: A Musical Powerhouse

Goldy LockS Band

The Goldy Locks Band is a trio of musical talent! The band is fronted by lead singer Goldy Locks—IMPACT Wrestling’s original knockout. This musical powerhouse also features drummer Rod Saylor and guitarist Johnny Oro, both from Orlando, Florida. Their latest single, Just Say Yes, has already achieved 21 “Best Music Video” awards on the Indie Circuit. This single has become an instant anthem, earning its way onto hundreds of playlists.

Rod Saylor earned a record deal at a very early age, setting the foundation for his career as a seasoned musician. He is the heartbeat of the Goldy Locks Band, bringing his percussive stylings to life. Guitarist Johnny Oro brings a fresh perspective to the band, contributing through his songwriting and delivering face-melting rock riffs that get every crowd on their feet. With musical influences such as Queen, Prince, Elton John, WHAM, and Peter, Paul, & Mary, it’s impossible not to be jolted from your seat!

The Goldy Locks Band has opened for numerous iconic acts, including Stevie Nicks, Saliva, Pink, Pat Benatar, Maroon 5, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Ted Nugent, and many more. When asked if they had a favorite song to perform, they said:

“Any song people love and respond well to is our favorite.”

Giving Back Through Music

The Goldy Locks Band is known for their philanthropic efforts. Their single All to You (released in 2021) aided in suicide prevention. Their cover of Pearl Jam’s Black raised awareness for child abuse prevention, and their hit Today I Won’t Be Afraid has helped raise thousands for organizations like the YWCA (Women’s Domestic Violence Prevention and Aid) and Soles4Souls, which provides shoes and clothing to those in crisis.

Currently, the band is working on I Didn’t Know featuring Mickie James and The Lacs, and their upcoming single Talking to Myself will be released soon. On Mother’s Day, they plan to release You Will Be Remembered, a special song with a music video featuring loved ones of their fans and contributors to their GoFundMe efforts.

Facing Challenges as a Woman in Music

I asked Goldy about the challenges she has faced in the music industry, and her response was, unfortunately, one I’ve heard from many women in the industry:

“Many people that could help us out don’t. They would rather suggest having a ‘sexy time,’ and when you don’t give it to them, they pass you by. When you see them giving all their less talented, less motivated ‘buddies’ the rub, sometimes it hurts. I use this to work harder!”

This is the unfortunate reality for many women in the industry, and Goldy’s resilience in the face of it is inspiring.

Goldy’s Wisdom: Staying Positive Through It All

Goldy has achieved so much in her lifetime, but what makes her truly remarkable is her genuine care for others. When I asked her about life’s greatest accomplishments, she didn’t mention fame or fortune. Instead, she said:

“Staying positive no matter what life dishes out. My mother was terminally ill and always saw the glass overflowing. Out of everything I have done, I’d hope God sees the kindness I’ve shown to some people. I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but all we can do is move forward, fix the blips, and do better next time. My greatest accomplishment is learning from past mistakes.”

Goldy also wants the world to know that sometimes she feels like an alien—like even as an adult, she doesn’t quite fit in. But she’s learned to own it.

“It’s okay to feel that way! Many people feel like weirdos. Always cut yourself some slack when life starts creeping up on you.”

I always ask my interviewees if they have a favorite quote or saying they live by, and Goldy’s response was golden:

“Thanks for giving a shit! I am always excited and surprised when people sincerely care. I think it’s beautiful, and I will always remember it!”

A Personal Reflection

Writing this blog brought back so many childhood memories—fake wrestling rings in the backyard, family time, and the joy of watching wrestling together. These moments feel so lacking in today’s society, and I’m reminded to cherish extra time with my children.

Like Goldy, I was taught from an early age to walk into a room with my head held high and own it. Recently, I was told that my “look-at-me attitude” is too much. For half a second, I considered toning it down—until I remembered that jealousy and self-doubt are often projected onto others. Goldy reminded me that I am a badass at what I do, and I will never again allow someone else's negativity to dull my shine.

Goldy Locks is more than a rock goddess—she is an inspiration to millions of women slaying every day. She builds up others, gives back, and never stops pushing forward. It has been an honor to write this blog and gain a lifelong friend in the process. In her words: I too will burn it all down to protect what’s mine!
